My approach is straightforward: I firmly believe in ensuring every child receives the necessary support to reach their full potential.
Collaboration is key to achieving this goal, together we must all share the same vision.
Hi, I’m Rachel, the founder of SEND Vision. I’m a dedicated SEND consultant with a passion for helping children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), their families, and the professionals who support them. With 12 years of experience in education and SEND practice, I’ve seen firsthand how the right support can change lives — and I started SEND Vision to make that support accessible, practical, and deeply human.
I firmly believe in ensuring every child receives the necessary support to reach their full potential.
My journey into SEND consultancy began when I worked as SENDCo in a local mainstream school and realised there was a real gap: families and schools were often working in isolation, without a clear, shared strategy. I wanted to bridge that gap. I believe that every child’s strengths deserve to be seen, and every voice — whether it’s a parent, teacher, or child — deserves to be heard.
At SEND Vision, my mission is simple:
To empower families with understanding and confidence
To build inclusive, sustainable systems in schools
To equip professionals with the skills and insight they need
To foster collaboration across agencies
Here’s what guides how I work:
Empathy First: I listen deeply and tailor support — no two situations are the same.
Practical & Evidence-Based: I draw on experience and best-practice research.
Collaboration: I believe in working with schools, families and professionals, not just “for” them.
Sustainability: My goal is to build capacity — not to create dependence — so that positive change lasts.
Clarity & Support: SEND systems can be complex. I’m here to make them more transparent and manageable.
Across my career, I’ve been proud to contribute to meaningful and lasting improvements in SEND provision. Some of my key achievements include:
Positive recognition from Ofsted during a successful school inspection for the impact of my work as SENDCO.
Securing additional funding to design and launch an Inclusion Hub within a mainstream primary school, enabling earlier intervention and more tailored support for pupils with complex needs.
Supporting families through the EHCP process, including helping parents successfully appeal for an EHC needs assessment and secure the provision their children require.
Delivering SEND training to teachers, support staff and leaders, focused on practical strategies to support children with a wide range of additional needs.
Developing collaborative SEND frameworks, working with colleagues to create consistent approaches to inclusion across settings.
Rolling out new systems and processes across trust schools, improving referral pathways, provision mapping, and tracking to ensure greater clarity and impact for learners.
These experiences shape the work I do today — rooted in real practice, informed by evidence, and always focused on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
When you partner with SEND Vision, you get more than consultancy — you get:
A trusted, compassionate expert who understands both education and family perspectives
Tailored solutions that fit your unique context
Practical tools and systems that work in real life, not just on paper
A long-term mindset: I help embed change, not just deliver quick fixes
Flexible support — whether online, face-to-face, or hybrid
Outside of my professional role, I’m very much a family-focused person. I love spending time with my six-year-old daughter and my husband — whether that’s exploring outdoors, enjoying quiet moments at home, or making everyday memories together.
I also have a brother with cerebral palsy, and he plays a significant role in my life. Spending time with him has given me a deep, personal understanding of inclusion, care, and the realities families face — insights that continue to shape my values and my work.
I’m passionate about continually developing my knowledge, and I enjoy keeping up-to-date with new research, guidance and developments within SEND. It’s important to me to stay informed so I can offer the most up-to-date, thoughtful support possible.
